Available Finishes
The ideal stone finish selected influences how Allure gray quartzite looks, feels, and performs. Nova Tile and Stone offers four options, each suited to specific applications and design intentions.
- Polished Quartzite
Polishing produces a smooth, highly reflective surface that can bring out greater depth in Allure gray's color and veining, and is the easiest finish to wipe clean. It is well suited to interior countertops, vanities, and wall cladding.
- Honed Quartzite
A honed finish produces a matte to satin appearance that tends to show less glare and conceal fingerprints more readily than polished, making it a practical option for floor installations and bathrooms. Being slightly more porous, it benefits from more frequent sealing.
- Leathered Quartzite
The leathered finish creates a low-sheen texture that follows the natural crystal contours of the material, helping to conceal fingerprints and water marks more readily than a smooth surface. It is well suited to kitchen islands, bar tops, and outdoor countertops.
- Specialty Quartzite Finishes
Specialty finishes (brushed, flamed, and sandblasted) are specified for applications with particular functional or design requirements. Flamed and sandblasted treatments increase surface roughness to help improve slip resistance for outdoor flooring and pool surrounds, while a brushed finish suits rustic and industrial design schemes.
Care and Maintenance: Keeping Your Natural Stone in Top Condition
Allure gray quartzite is considered one of the lower-maintenance natural stone options, though a consistent care routine helps preserve its surface and extend its lifespan.
- Sealing
Apply a penetrating stone sealer at installation. Countertops benefit from resealing annually and wall or floor installations every two to three years, with honed finishes tending toward the more frequent end of that range.
- Daily Cleaning
A pH-neutral cleaner applied with a soft cloth or mop is typically sufficient. Acidic cleaners, bleach, and abrasive scrubbing pads can degrade the sealer over time and may dull polished surfaces.
- Deep Cleaning and What to Avoid
Steam cleaning is effective for flooring and wall surfaces across all finish types. Using a cutting board is recommended to protect the surface.
