When planning a surface upgrade that calls for both visual impact and long-term reliability, few natural stone options deliver quite like a well-chosen slab from the granite family. Among the varieties our team works with regularly, titanium granite has become a consistent favorite for homeowners, interior designers, and contractors looking for a material that performs across a wide range of applications.

It is a UV-resistant natural stone available in polished, honed, leathered, and specialty finishes, making it a versatile option for both indoor and outdoor projects. The surface is suitable for food preparation and is a good choice for kitchen countertops, but as with any natural stone, the right finish and consistent care will determine how well it holds up over time.

Bold by Nature, Built to Last

Titanium granite is a natural stone formed through the slow crystallization of molten rock deep within the earth, producing a dense, hard-wearing surface with a distinctive mineral composition. Its appearance is defined by deep base tones, often dark gray, near-black, or warm brown, interlaced with metallic flecks that give the surface a bold, dimensional quality. Because it is a natural material, each slab carries its own unique characteristics, which is part of what makes it so valued in custom applications.

Available in polished, honed, leathered, and specialty finishes, granite slabs can be adapted to suit a wide range of design directions. A polished finish amplifies the stone's natural reflectivity, while a honed or leathered finish lends a more understated, tactile feel. Each finish option also affects how the surface performs in practical use, so selecting the right one for the intended application is an important early step in any project.

Performance You Can See and Feel

Titanium granite is a good choice for kitchen surfaces, and its suitability extends well beyond the countertop. As a UV-resistant stone, it holds up in both indoor and outdoor environments, making it a practical option for exterior wall cladding, outdoor kitchen countertops, and covered patio surfaces. It is also well suited for floor installations, wall applications, and fireplace surrounds, giving our team flexibility when working across different project scopes.

The surface is suitable for food preparation, though a cutting board is always recommended to protect the finish. For wet areas such as showers or pool surrounds, a honed or leathered finish is generally preferred, as polished surfaces may be more slippery when wet. The slab resists fading, but prolonged exposure conditions should still be considered depending on the specific application. The material is built for lasting use, but each project should be evaluated individually to ensure the right finish is selected for the environment.

Simple Care for a Lasting Surface

Titanium granite is easy to maintain, but harsh cleaners should be avoided to preserve both the finish and the integrity of any sealant applied. Keeping the surface in good condition comes down to a few consistent habits:

  • Seal regularly: Granite is a porous natural stone, and periodic sealing helps protect against moisture absorption and staining. The recommended frequency will depend on usage level and the finish type selected.
  • Clean spills promptly: The surface is stain resistant, but spills should be wiped up quickly to prevent them from settling into the stone over time.
  • Use trivets and heat pads: The slab can handle normal kitchen heat, but direct contact with very hot items should be avoided. A trivet or heat pad under hot cookware is always the safer choice.
  • Use a cutting board: The surface is scratch resistant, but cutting directly on it is not recommended. A cutting board protects both the finish and the sealant layer beneath it.
  • Avoid abrasive products: Harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaning pads can dull the finish over time. A mild, pH-neutral cleaner is the better option for everyday use.
  • Inspect edges and corners: The slab is durable, but proper care will help preserve its appearance, particularly along edges that may be more vulnerable to chipping under heavy impact.

These slabs are available in polished, honed, leathered, and specialty finishes. Each finish affects both the appearance and the practical performance of the surface. Matte and textured finishes offer better slip resistance for floor or wet area applications, while a polished finish works well for countertops and accent walls where a reflective surface is preferred.
